Company Information

D.J. Goode & Associates Ltd (DGA) are a leading firm of consulting engineers, specialising in blast and ballistic effects on building and civil engineering structures.

Our origins lie in the civil works aspects of the petrochemical field, but during the 1980’s and 90’s our principal staff became involved in a range of military engineering projects. Since our formation in 1993 we have prepared the blast and ballistic designs of many building components, buildings and other structures, together with a large number of designs for commercial blast resistant glazing and curtain walling. We also design explosives test and training structures, and structures for the storage and processing of various types of ammunition. We have worked on a number of fully-hardened buildings, some incorporating NBC, Tempest and EMP countermeasures.

We have designed a large number of windows and doors, and a significant amount of curtain walling, to resist the blast threat and this has been done in a way that can conceal the protective function of these building elements. We are particularly involved with the development of large-pane curtain walling systems, suitable for use at airports and similar locations.

Our sister company Grendon Design Agency Ltd specialise in risk analysis, contingency planning and the design of security facilities and building elements.

We provide specialist blast/weapons effects engineering advice to a number of large consulting firms.

We also help to manage the Comblast series of trials, for the full-scale blast testing of building components.

We have worked in the UK, Northern Ireland and also The Irish Republic, The Netherlands, Australia, Singapore, Cyprus, Tanzania, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Trinidad, The Philippines, Gibraltar and the Yemen.
